Application Support Specialist

Description

General Responsibilities:
Provide advanced technical support and development of desktop and cloud applications.
Respond to Gensco team members’ requests (level 2), as needed.
Provide team member training on new applications, as needed.
Contribute to the development of the IT team through cross-training.
Back up the IT Help Desk resource during absences.

Epicor Prophet 21 Responsibilities:
Provide systems development for Prophet 21 (P21).
Using the DynaChange tool, customize screens to team members’ needs.
Using the DynaChange rules engine, develop custom programming within the Prophet 21 application.
Create custom reports and modify existing out-of-the box reports.
Create custom portals.
Develop, maintain and support EDI transactions between Gensco and suppliers.
Assist in web UI implementation.
Facilitate change testing across various departments within the company.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues.
Track and manage support cases opened through Epicor’s support portal.

Salesforce Responsibilities:
Assist with page edits and custom configuration.
Configure workflow rules
Create custom reports
Actively participate in user community.
File Support cases as needed.
Complete application training as required

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Completion of college program in information technology or related studies.
  • Minimum of seven years of information systems experience in a business environment.
  • Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) software strongly desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, SAP Crystal Reports, C# or EDI is not required but is a definite plus.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and/or Java experience is also a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time & details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment.
  • Superior Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately.
  • Demonstrated success in working independently and in a team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with staff with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems for desktops and server.
  • Understanding of Microsoft desktop applications.
  • Experience with database report design a plus High degree of honesty, ethics and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information.
  • Able to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facility.
  • Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies.
  • Able to work beyond normal business hours if necessary
