Network Support Specialist

Project Lead for information technology related activities, including: The acquisition, setup, maintenance and operation of both local and wide area networks (LANs/WANs). The acquisition, setup, operation, maintenance and application of computer servers both physical and virtual.The setup, maintenance, security and operation of Gensco’s Internet and Intranet functionality. Support and operation of the central business system, including: Support of all data communication functionsProvide user support with connectivity System backup and recovery Provide level 2 technical help desk assistance to Gensco team members.


  • Completion of college program in Information Technology or related studies or a minimum of seven years of related work experience in a business environment
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and meet project deadlines in a multi-task environment
  • Demonstrated success in working independently and in a team setting
  • Superior Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with staff with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, Routing and Firewalls Working knowledge of enterprise networking in a Microsoft environment, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP, Hyper-V, Exchange and User Security
  • Understanding of Microsoft best practices
  • Good knowledge of computer security systems and firewalls
  • Strong PC and network troubleshooting skillsAble to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facility
  • Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basisAble to work beyond normal business hours if necessary
