The Distribution Department Manager is responsible for attaining Gensco’s goals for customer service (Internal and external), Team Member development, process improvement, controlling distribution expense and will perform a full range of management responsibilities. Summary: Oversees a 24-hour a day Distribution department responsible for distributing multiple product lines company wide. Ensures a safe environment conducive to positive Team Member relations. Maintains excellent customer service results. Oversees continual improvement of processes and productivity. Manages productivity and distribution expenses by controlling staffing levels.Works in conjunction with the TDC Safety/Training Coordinator to Develop and monitors Distribution Standard Operating Procedures. Performs a full range of management responsibilities including effectively delegating work to members of his/her team, coaching/mentoring the Team Members to achieve desired results, and developing meaningful metrics upon which to hold the Team Members accountable for accomplishing. Defines and then ensures that all members of his/her team provide Gensco’s level of desired customer service for external and internal customers. Demonstrates personal integrity, an exemplary work ethic and an authentic concern for the welfare of Team Members.Constantly promotes and encourages a positive and safe work environment for Team Members.Provides members of his/her Team with clear and concise communication of Gensco’s mission and goals as well as each Team Member’s specific role, responsibilities and goals.Actively leads efforts to obtain effective problem “root cause analysis” and implement necessary process improvement to achieve measurable “best of class” performance for his/her area of responsibility. Regularly evaluates his/her team and then develops and implements a Team Member development plan that ensures succession for critical roles in his/her area of responsibility.

Education/Experience/Skills

Two year degree required.

Five years experience in a Distribution environment.

Five years supervisory experience.

Excellent knowledge of the products Gensco sells.

Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately.

Strong decision making abilities - understands impact and implications of decisions.

Strong negotiation skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong people management and time management skills.

Able to operate computer terminal, personal computer and office machines.

Able to work sitting or standing and move freely throughout the facility(s).

Able to lift and carry equipment, supplies and inventory on a frequent basis. 

Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment.

Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency.

Able to use electronic calculator, computer terminal, personal computer, etc.

Must be comfortable working in a team oriented, fast paced, multiple task and customer focused environment .

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Willing to “think out of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities.
