Description

Gensco has an opening for an Purchasing Intern for the summer of 2019 in Tacoma, Washington.This position will assist in a variety of purchasing and inventory functions, as well as provide excellent internal and external customer service by treating them fairly and responding to them in a timely manner.

Education/Experience/Skills

Analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environmentProficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), particularly ExcelCustomer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgencyProactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately Strong people skills, recognizes when to use formal or informal approach, not easily intimidated, accessible, ability to say “no” in a firm but polite mannerWilling to “think out of the box” and identify process improvement opportunitiesHigh degree of honesty, ethics and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information preferredWorks effectively in a Team environmentCommunicates clearly and effectivelyAble to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facilityAble to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis
