Columbia Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic

This position is for a Maintenance Mechanic in our Columbia Manufacturing Facility. This is an opportunity for Monday through Friday! Paid Weekly! Duties and Responsibilities: - Performs routine repairs and maintenance on plant facilities and equipment. Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service. - Uses hand and power tools to perform basic fabrication and carpentry, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, air conditioning, and plumbing repairs. - Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and facility as required. - Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment. - Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. - Provides quality customer service to all internal customers. - Works collaboratively with Machine Operators to diagnose machine maintenance and repairs. - Involved in continual improvement systems. - Performs and records scheduled tasks within designated timeline. Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance -Team with special projects as necessary - Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Additional Maintenance Technician Duties: - Troubleshoot and support operators on PLC operations, setup and software programs. - Specialized in electro-mechanical control systems and sensor/actuator functions. - Assist engineering team in supporting day to day troubleshooting and design implementation. - Reviews service requests, determines nature of problems, and directs the team during the performance of the repairs. - Supports and verifies Maintenance Mechanics on technical methods and equipment operations during projects and repairs. - Coordinates the activities of outside contractors.


  • High school diploma Requires
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Strong Electrical background preferred
  • Regularly and repetitively lift 50 pounds and frequently lift 75 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
  • Able to move freely about the facility, climb stairs, stoop, bend, kneel, stand and walk for extended periods of time up to and over 8 hours a day
  • Able to work at heights up to 30'
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical systems
  • Possesses excellent attention to detail
  • Able to handle multiple activities
  • Able to work alone and in teams Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
  • Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
