The Graphic Design Specialist performs a broad range of graphic design activities supporting the successful implementation of Gensco Marketing initiatives and provides creative graphic design talents that result in industry leading Marketing strategies and achieves desired Gensco sales growth.The Graphic Designer will be responsible for providing superior internal and external customer service, maintaining brand identity through print and digital media with the ability to execute and communicate design principles. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong communication, problem-solving and time management skills as well as being open to direction from fellow Team Members and Customers. Graphic Design degree required with a concentration in Art/Design. Responsible for the on-time and accurate design, layout, and print production of numerous campaigns, projects and special assignments assigned by Marketing Manager and other Managers within Gensco to promote sales: Graphic support of events campaigns such as Training books, Dealer Meeting collateral and signage as well as Customer Trip Brochures Supplies and “Equipment” campaigns such as the Gensco Chronicle, New Product Launches, Sales Promotions, and Dealer Programs Corporate’ campaigns such as the Hotline, Birthdays & Anniversaries, Gensco and Columbia letterhead, business cards, envelopes, and notepads Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers Weekly meetings with the Marketing Manager Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Graphic Design for Print Production -On-time and accurate design, layout, and print production of: -Gensco Chronicle Support – monthly -Organize and participate in meetings for product selection/features -Submit selected items to Pricing Dept. -Manage the selling and execution of ad placements within Chronicle -Design, obtain Gensco approvals, proof and send to print (third party partner) -Maintain mailing list of over 5,000 addresses -Submit to Accounting for co-op as ads are purchased -Business & Sales Training Schedule Support – annual -Develop two versions of Training Books (Trane/AMS) -Develop two versions of Dealer Growth Program (Trane/AMS for each year of program) -Technical Training Schedule – quarterly -Service Parts Promotions Support (Fall/Spring) -Work with Service Parts to determine product feature list -Design and create two editions of the promotion catalog (spring and fall), obtain Gensco approvals, proof and send to print -Support in the setup of online version for GenscoCustome.com -Customer Trip Brochures Support -Gensco Catalog Production Support -Comfort Essentials/System Enhancements Support -Custom created dealer brochure -Less than a week turnaround time to dealer’s needs -Work with Web Developer to maintain design standards as needed -Communicate final proof to each dealer -Work with Accounting to invoice for service/brochure -Dealer Meeting Print Collateral and Signage Support -Design signage as need for branches or sales team support -Sales and Managers Meeting Print Collateral and Signage Support This position is a temporary 90 day contracted position with opportunity for Full time employment after contract agreement is fulfilled. This position is at our corporate office located in Tacoma, WA

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Degree in Graphic Design required 2-3 years related experience
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve appropriately
  • Very proficient with operating a personal computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software
  • Very proficient in using In Design and Photoshop
  • Very proficient in printing processes including layout Basic Web design knowledge
  • Strong project management skills Strong decision making abilities - understands impact and implications of decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and get the job done Able to communicate with the public in person and on the phone
  • Able to work sitting or standing and move freely throughout the facility(s) Able to lift and carry equipment, supplies and inventory on a frequent basis
