Boom Truck Operator

Gensco, a local, family owned company is experiencing an exciting period of growth and is actively seeking a Boom Truck Operator based in Tacoma to be a part of our winning team. This position will make rooftop deliveries of HVAC equipment throughout the Seattle, East Side and Tacoma metro areas. This position will also perform a variety of assigned warehouse and delivery duties in a safe, friendly manner and is responsible for helping keep the warehouse and equipment safe and clean. This position requires a positive, helpful attitude and must be able to work with other team members to help us exceed our customer expectations.   • High school diploma or GED required
  • Regularly and repetitively lift 50 pounds and frequently lift 75 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
  • Able to move freely about the facility, climb stairs and Boom Truck steps, stoop, bend, kneel, stand and walk for extended periods of time up to and over 8 hours a day
  • Able to read customer orders, transfer, and stock numbers
  • Able to use all types of warehouse equipment including, but not limited to, hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, ladders, order pickers bar code readers, etc.
  • Able to use an electronic calculator, computer, and other business equipment
  • Able to work at heights up to 30’
  • Able to handle multiple activities
  • Able to work alone and in teams
  • Possesses excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
  • Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency
  • Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately Willing to “think out of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Possess strong math and analytical skills as well as the ability to make good decisions in critical situations
  • Able to interpret and comprehend instructions, drawings and specifications
  • Possess and maintain Class A drivers license and a driving record that meets Gensco drivers record policy
  • Holds Operator’s card from 3rd party NCCCO accredited Crane training program
  • Holds Rigger Training Certificate from 3rd party accredited training program
  • Previous experience operating a manual transmission desired
  • Must have knowledge of local, state and federal laws concerning the operation of commercial vehicles
  • Operator will be exposed to prevailing weather conditions
  • Assignments may be performed in work areas that are noise with heavy mobile equipment and MHE traffic
  • Operator is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the job and work area where assigned
